BCA makes disciples for Jesus while upholding academic standards of excellence.

Chapel – Our Closing Chapel Service on Friday, May 31, at 8:30 a.m., will be led by Mr. Frank Streufert. The end-of-year certificates will be presented at this service.  Following Chapel, students will return to their homeroom and may be dismissed at that time.  Chapel Dress Code is required as we have had on all of our chapel days.  Report cards will be sentvia InfoDirect on Friday, May 31.  Our May Chapel Offerings will go to the Achieve Learning Center. 

Day Care News – If you need Day Care following the closing chapel service, you must sign up with Melissa Swafford. You will need to bring a sack lunch and drink for Day Care on May 31.  You may reach Melissa at 423-987-8774.  Thanks.

Summer Time! – We pray that each of you have a wonderful summer!  Please keep Belvoir Christian Academy, the faculty, staff and all of our students and families in your prayers over the summer.

Supply Lists-The BCA supply lists for the 2013-2014 school year will be available on our website listed in the “Classroom Pages”.  The lists will be available on our website by the middle of June.

Summer Reading Lists – The Summer Reading Lists for students entering 1st through 8th grades next year will be available on our BCA website @ www.bcalions.org.  The reading list will also be under the teacher’s “classroom pages.”

BCA Sunday – Everyone is invited to attend BCA Sunday at First Lutheran Church on June 2, 2013, at 11 a.m.

News from Laura Dahlke, PTL President - I want to sy "Thank You" to everyone from the PTL!  We have danced, mixed, mingled, shopped, talked, raised money and decorated our way through a fantastic year.   Thanks to several parents, we have eaten rather well, also.  We bought tables for the cafeteria and iPads for the teachers. We are even starting a garden!  What more could we ask for? We hope that during the summer, you won't forget about us.  Hang a BAGGIE on the fridge for BoxTops and& Campbell's soup labels, and put a box nearby for JARS.  August will be here before we know it!  Our BIG Uniform Sale will be held on Registration Day.  Look for e-mails!  HAVE A GREAT SUMMER VACATION!  

Campbell’s and Box Top Label Contest Winner! - We want to congratulate Mrs. McCrory’s 1st Grade for winning the spring contest for the Campbell’s Soup and Box Top collection. They brought in over 1,000 labels! Way to go! They will win an ice cream or pizza party, compliments of PTL.Thanks to everyone for collecting labels all year! Please continue to collect them over the summer for the Fall 2013 label contest! We also want to thank Lora Finley for her efforts in preparing and submitting the labels these past two semesters.

Vacation Bible School – June 24 – June 28  - Mark your calendars to join Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, First Lutheran Church and Cross of Christ as they team up to offer for their annual VBS program. The program will be held at BCA and will begin at 5:30 and end at 8:30 p.m. The event is open to ages Pre-K3 – 8th grade students (3-year-olds must be potty-trained to attend.) Pre-K and Middle School participants will have programs especially designed for their age group.

Continue to Support BCA over the Summer with Various Reward Programs! - In addition to collecting Campbell’s labels and General Mills’ Box Top labels, be sure to continue saving your Coke Reward points for BCA! You can enter your rewards points online at www.mycokerewards.com and donate them to BCA. All points collected will be donated to our Athletic Booster Club to help bring in new P.E. equipment.

Also, please continue using your BI-LO BoostersPlus card when you purchase items from BI-LO. In August, you will need to re-register your BoostersPlus Card that you can link your future purchases to, but for now and throughout the summer, please continue using your current BoosterPlus card linked to your BI-LO Bonus card.

Finally, BCA also receives 5% back from your Office Depot purchases. Simply give the cashier our “Back to School” ID # - 70092337 – as you are making your purchase. Thank you for supporting BCA in these various collections! They all add up to help us buy supplies for our teachers and school events!

BCA Open House, June 6 - Help BCA share its ministry with others in the community! - Our next scheduled Open House is set for Thursday, June 6 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., so please invite friends or family members who may be looking for a new school for their child. For more information, please contact Emily Patton in Admissions at admissions@bcalions.org. One of the best ways to get the word out about our school is to have our families share their BCA experience with others. To reward those who refer BCA, we offer a referral fee to the currently enrolled family who brings in a NEW family! (Please see the BCA Family Handbook for details on the referral fee program.)

BCA “Built on the Rock” Annual Fund – Reaching Closer to our Goal!  Help us Reach it by June 30!  - Since last November, we have reached 60% of our goal of $75,000 for our “Built on the Rock” Annual Fund! The Annual Fund is very important in that it enables BCA to maintain stable tuition rates for all families and also allows us to offer partial scholarships to many students who otherwise may not be able to attend BCA. If you have made a contribution to this year’s BCA Annual Fund, we thank you! If not, we ask that you please consider making a donation of any amount to help BCA and its students. Each gift truly makes a difference! Gifts can be made online by visiting bcalions.org, Giving page.   

Yearbook Orders – 2012-2013 Yearbook Order Forms have been sent home with all students.  The cost is $45 for a color yearbook.  The yearbook will include sports pictures, Field Day, Christmas Service, National Lutheran School Week, field trips, class parties, chapel, mini-courses and much, much more.  Please make checks payable to BCA Yearbook and return with an order form to your child’s homeroom teacher or Mrs. Melissa Swafford by Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Quantities are limited so please don’t wait to order by the deadline.

News from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans – The Chattanooga Lookouts vs. The Tennessee Smokies Baseball Game is on Friday, June 21st, game time 7:15 pm. A picnic dinner precedes the game from 6:00 – 7:30 pm. The picnic includes hot dogs, hamburgers, potato chips, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, assorted ice cream, soda and water throughout the entire game.

Fireworks follow the game.  Tickets are available from your Congregational Advocate. Ticket prices are: Adults, $10 (half off the regular price), Children 2-12, $8 & under 2 years, free.  Ticket orders and money due by  June 2nd. 43rd  Annual Lutheran School Horse Show – Tri-State Exhibition Center, Cleveland, TN, (30 minutes from school) on Saturday, June 1.  Your support is needed by selling tickets, trophies, ribbons and sponsorships to appear in our Horse Show Program.  The 2012 Horse Show made an $8,000 profit and this year we are hoping to exceed this amount.
