Parent-Teacher League

(See Weekly PTL News below)

We're glad to have new students and their families join Belvoir Christian Academy! We hope this will be a great beginning to your child’s education. While our teachers and staff will ensure that your child receives a top-notch education, the parents on our Parent-Teacher League will work to provide children, parents and the community with several fun and exciting events that will certainly enhance your child's experience here at BCA.

The best way to get to know other parents is to become involved with the activities that PTL has planned for the year. Everyone is welcome to our monthly meetings, which are generally held in the cafeteria at 6 p.m. Look for meeting notices in the school’s weekly newsletter.

For more information on BCA's PTL, please contact the new PTL President for the 2012-2013 school year, Laura Dahlke, at 423.834.4337 or PTL@bcalions.org.

Purpose of PTL:

  • To encourage and cultivate high standards of Christian education.

  • To promote open communication and good will among parents, teachers, administration, school board, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and First Lutheran Church.

  • To encourage parental participation in school events.

    Volunteer Opportunity Box -
Check out the "Volunteer Opportunity" box that is located at the front lobby/greeter desk. The box will have index cards that list individual needs for classrooms or general volunteer opportunities. Most of the tasks may be completed while you are waiting to pick up your child or waiting during an after-school activity. Besides emails, newsletters and memos, this will be another way for parents to see where they can help.

Teachers’ Lounge Care by Parents - As a service to our faculty and staff, each homeroom class is asked to donate simple snacks and/or drinks to be placed in the Teachers’ Lounge (located across from the library). Our teachers are especially busy during the day and do not have time to take many breaks, but as they are making copies in the lounge, they can have a snack/drink while waiting.

Each class will take a two or three-week period to bring in items such as bottled water, individually-wrapped snack bars, etc. Your homeroom parent will let you know the weeks that your child’s class will help with this service. There will be a few weeks throughout the year that will not be assigned to a specific class, so we will let you know of these weeks and ask for donations school-wide during these times.
